Strategies of Behavioral Intervention (索比)

圣rategies of Behavioral Intervention Team (索比) is a multi-disciplinary team of appointed St. Philip’s staff and 教师 who are responsible for identifying, 评估, and responding to concerns and/or disruptive behaviors exhibited by students and visitors who may present a risk of harm to themselves, 社会各界人士, 或者机构.

我们的使命

促进学生, 教师, 和工作人员 success and campus safety by identifying individuals who demonstrate behaviors that may be early warning signs of possible disruptive or violent behavior and intervene at the earliest possible point.

There may be times when concerns about behavior arise.  Examples of such concerns include but are not limited to:

  • Written material containing alarming wording or out of context wording
  • Statements that indicate the threat of harm to self or others
  • 无视个人界限
  • 行为上的重大改变

所有的圣. Philip’s 大学 employees are mandated to report incidents.  If you are concerned about someone’s health and safety, please submit a 索比 report by following the steps below.

    1. 完成 Strategies of Behavioral Intervention (索比) Incident Reporting Form.
    2. 提交 any supporting documentation, if appropriate.
    3. If you’d like assistance completing the form, please contact a 索比 Co-Chair for assistance; 亚历山德拉·罗德里格斯, arodriguezfiguer@sun-pix.net 或者亚历山德拉·“萨沙”·威廉 awilhelm3@sun-pix.net
    1. 什么时候提交索比事件报告?
      1. Anytime you are worried about the behavior or wellbeing of a student and believe they may need additional resources.
    2. What should I do after I submit a 索比 report?
      1. As a courtesy, notify your 直接主管 of the incident and follow your department protocols.
    3. Can I follow up on a 索比 report that was submitted?
      1. A 索比 team member will confirm receipt of your initial report. A reporter may follow up but based on the nature of the report and student confidentiality, 信息披露将受到限制.
    4. What if I don’t know a lot of the information needed on the 索比 incident form?
      1. 完成 form to the best of your ability. A 索比 team member will edit the form and make any necessary corrections.  重要的是你要提交报告.
  • Distracted and disruptive behavior in the classroom should be addressed if it is safe to do so. Several intervention strategies exist to address distracted and disruptive behavior. 以下是一些例子:

    • Faculty may ask a student to refrain from specific behaviors in the classroom.
    • Faculty may ask a student to meet outside of class to discuss specific behaviors
    • Faculty may ask a student to meet prior to returning to class.
    • Faculty may ask a student to leave the classroom.
    • Faculty may dismiss class if the disruption is significant enough that continuing to teach is not feasible.

If a student is asked to leave class and/or dismissing class is necessary, the incident should be reported to the 索比 Team, 直接主管, 和系主任.
